What a Week It Was! Shaken Up & (Not) Blown Away… But Keeping Our Cool!

Posted on: August 25th, 2011

Who’d ever thunk it? First ever earthquake in New York City, followed by memorable Hurricane Irene, had us evacuate twice in one week with style and aplomb.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23 when the building shook due to the recent memorable NY quake, Lisa Sclafani, our unflappable administrator, evacuated every one of our residents in record time. All the seniors were given water, chairs and sun hats, and waited along the bay until building was deemed safe to return.

In advance of the Hurricane Irene and aided by our remarkable staff and concerned friends – all residents of The Waterford on The Bay were evacuated by Saturday noon.
